In a land of ponies, anyone with hands would probably make the most expensive workforce you can hire. Also seeing as there is no good way aside from rubbing ones back on another object rather awkwardly to itch a spot one you back if you where a pony. It is no surprise that AJ sees this as such a treat to have her back itched by actual 'hands' . . . claws . . . whatever. You see dogs make funny faces when you itch spots they cant normally get too.

Well, I see you have a good point there... :D
But when you say ''expencive workforce'' I come to think of it, how much would it cost? Spike could be a very rich guy, imagine all the ponies hireing him to... I don't know, scratch their backs?
